Step 1: Confirm you received Box 1 of 2 and Box 2 of 2 when purchasing your Personal Snowplow.

 Custom Mounting Brackets

Step 2: Obtain your custom vehicle mounting brackets.

In order to mount the snowplow onto your truck or SUV, you will need custom mounting brackets specific to your vehicle’s make, model, year, 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive capabilities.

In most cases, the custom mounting brackets are included in the purchase price of the snowplow, however, some retailers stock and sell the mounts separately.

 Universal Vehicle Cross Member

You will then use the mounting brackets above to attach the universal cross member to your vehicle. The cross member can be found in the boxed snowplow components you received at time of purchase.

 Mount Certificate

IF you received a Mount Certificate in Box 1 of 2, you will need to order your custom vehicle mount separately from SnowBear Limited.

There are several ways to redeem your Mount Certificate (note: the SERIAL number located in the top right corner of your Mount Certificate will be needed to successfully order your vehicle mount):

  • Call SnowBear Limited’s Customer Service Department toll-free at 1-800-337-2327
  • Fax your completed Mount Certificate to 1-866-767-2584, Attn: Customer Service Dept.
  • Order on-line

Once you have ordered your mount, it will be sent by ground courier service at no charge. You will receive it within 5 – 10 business days depending on your geographic location. Expedited service MAY be available for an additional charge to receive your mount sooner. You will need to contact a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-337-2327 for a quote on this service, if available.

 Beginning Snowplow Assembly

Step 3: Assemble the snowplow.

Installing the scraper is the first step towards completing your plow assembly.

Use the instructions contained within the Owner’s Manual when assembling your snowplow. The parts list and diagrams will guide you through the assembly and installations smoothly. For easier and faster assembly, invite a friend to help.

 Upper And Lower A-Frame Assembly
Assembling the snowplow hardware is next. Here you can see the assembly of the winch frame to the upper A-frame and lower A-frame.
Add Markers As Final Step  The final step will be to attach the snowplow markers to the plow. However, if you have a snow deflector, than it must be attached first leaving the markers until last.
 Add Markers As Final Step

Step 4: Attach your vehicle mount.

When you receive your custom vehicle mounting brackets, you will need to install it with the vehicle cross member.

Add Markers As Final Step Loosely attach the brackets (shown above in red) and cross member (shown in yellow) to your vehicle’s frame before you tighten any bolts or nuts.
 Wiring

Step 5: Connect the snowplow’s wiring system.

In order for your window-mounted switch to be operational, you will need to connect the wiring to the battery and the winch. Follow the easy, step-by-step instructions in your Owner’s Manual.

Close-up Showing Quick Connect Plugs The quick connects are stored under the hood and inside the bumper of the vehicle ready to be connected whenever the snow falls.
Window-Mounted Control Switch The window-mounted switch can be removed in seconds and stored for future use.

Step 6: Attach the snowplow to your vehicle.

Now that the wiring is in place, you are almost ready to plow. But first you must attach the plow to your vehicle. Using the MountAssist, align the plow’s receivers with the cross member’s posts and slide your plow on. (note: for smoother on/off operation, you may want to grease the pins of the vehicle cross member).

Be sure to insert and close the two hitch pins through the cross member to secure the plow to your vehicle.

Plug the Quick Connect at the front of your vehicle to the plow’s winch. Place the window-mounted switch on the driver side window and connect the two Quick Connectors under the hood. Use the window-mounted switch to lift the plow and you’re on your way!

Easy Manual Angle

OTHER FEATURES

3-Position Manual Angle - Adjusting the angle of your plow is simple with the manual release handle. By pulling the handle towards you, the blade is free to move left or right. Always ensure the blade is locked into position prior to plowing.

Plowing

Impact Absorbing Tension Springs - While plowing, the blade is designed with trip springs to tip forward if it is overloaded. It will automatically reset itself into the plowing position once you back away.

Snowplow Markers - You can also see how helpful the snowplow's markers are in identifying the plow's position from the driver's seat.

Plowing Tips:
- Always plow as wide as possible during the first snowfalls to allow for snow buildup.

- Always check the plowing area for obstacles that can cause damage to the blade or your vehicle.

Plowing

Emergency manual handle - This handle is included with your plow to lower or raise the blade in case of power failure.

Safety Hook

Safety hook - This hook is provided to allow for short transportation of the plow while on the vehicle.
(note: SnowBear does not recommend driving long distances with the plow installed on your vehicle.
~ Caution: Avoid driving on highways or at high speeds with the plow attached to your vehicle.)
